Mike McConnell, president and general managerof Eclipse'sa customer division, said during a conference call that the global financiaol crisis has delayed the close of a court-approve deal for to buy Eclipse Aviation. Eclipse, which makex the six-seat Eclipse 500 very light jet atits N.M., headquarters, filed for Chapter 11 protection with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware last November. In January, the courrt approved a proposal by EclipseJet to buy the firmfor $28 millionn in cash, $160 million in newly issued and an offer of 15 percent equity in the new companyt to senior secured note holders.

Ungerleider, who received his bachelor's degree in psychologyt in 1970 from UT whilew competing asa gymnast, said he'se creating the fellowship named for the curreng university president to help attract top graduate studentds from around the world. The first class of Powera Graduate Fellows will enter the university infall 2009. "Wr have an absolute gem here with the said Ungerleider, "and we have a visionary sittingb in the president's office. I wanted to hono both." The gift has been facilitated by Ungerleider through the Foundation for GlobalSports Development, an outreacb and mentorship educational fund, where Ungerleider is a trustee.
"We are indebted to Dr. Ungerleider for this generous said Powers. "He clearly understands the importancw of graduate students to the succesx ofour university. I am deeply honored that he chosse to name this significant fellowship programaftefr me." Despite receiving his master's and doctor's degrees from anothee institution, Ungerleider chose The University of Texasa at Austin for his gift to supportf the president's goal of becomintg the top public research institution in the Ungerleider said in conversations with Powers he learned that whil many top prospective graduate students would like to attend UT the university loses some because they are offered better financial packages elsewhere.
