Montelucia Resort makes splash with grand opening - Phoenix Business Journal:

Developed by Robert Flaxman and his Crown Realtyh Development and Intercontinental Hotels the 34-acre resort features 253 guest rooms, 40 suites, five pools, 27,000 squars feet of meeting space as well as its signaturew restaurant Prado and Joya, a 31,000-square-foot spa. The mornintg event attracted city and tourism including Paradise Valley Mayor Vernon CityCouncil members; Rachel Sacco, president and chief executive of the Scottsdalde Convention and Visitors Bureau; Doug MacKenzie, communications director of the Greatet Phoenix Convention and Visitors Margie Emmermann, director of the Arizon a Office of Tourism; and Rick Kidder, chief executive of the Scottsdalre Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s hard to believe that this was once the LaPosadza resort,” Kidder said, eyeing the Mediterranean-like surroundings on a brislk Arizona morning. During a short ceremony, Generalk Manager Valeriano Antonioli led events that included a ribbonm cutting and comments fromhotelk executives, city leaders and tourism officials. Emmerman said the property is going to be activel marketed by tourism and industry officials alike becaused of itsunique luxury. “Our brandr promise is about inspiring unforgettableSouthwesf moments,” Emmermann said.
Flaxman also spokde about the challenges in bringing his vision to reality and his satisfaction seeing it cometo “I truly believe that this property is one of a This will elevate the entire tourism industryy in the Valley and it’s one that will stand out on the internationall scene,” Flaxman said. Antonioli brought the crowdd of 200 intothe resort’s central square and introduced each aspecgt of the facility.
The crisp presentation had the doorw of wedding chapel open on cue to an extravagantf table set with candles and membersz of the dining staff pouring out of Prado offering samples to the Staff then took small groupas on tours of the The Montelucia’s restaurants and spa are open to the publid and reservations are being accepted for the wedding chapel, meetinhg spaces, rooms and suites.
