Prior to joining Cousins, Jim was a partneer in Fleming & Ray, LC, an Atlanta-basedc law firm he founded in 1994. As a real estat attorney, Jim was responsible for the development, leasing and financing of retail, multi-family, hotel, industrial and mixed-usde projects, as well as land and single-familyg subdivisions. Previously, he spent twelvde years with the law firmof Long, Aldridgr & Norman where he was Managintg Partner from 1991-1993. Memberships and Civic Involvement: Jim has served as an Executive Committee Member of the Real Property Law Sectiob of the State Bar of Georgia from 1997 to 2001 and was the chaifr of the Real Estate Section of the Atlantw Bar Associationfor 2000-2001. He has served as Chairman of the Real Properth Law Seminar at the Stat e Barof Georgia's Annual Meeting, and servedx on the committee appointed by the Georgis Department of Revenue to draft Georgia's intangibleas tax regulations. ), and several articles for the AtlantazBusiness Chronicle, Georgia State Bar Journal and Virginia Law He also served as Past Chairman of United Cerebralo Palsy of Greater Atlanta, as Vice-Chairma n of the Board of Trustees, North Georgi a Conference of the United Methodist Church, and as a member of the Boarc of Visitors for Emory University.
